The idea for this inn was born generations ago. The Schönberger family founded the house many years ago and I would like to continue this tradition as the new „landlady“.

In summer, the house is a meeting point for tourists and house guests. In the off-season and in winter, we are a meeting place for locals, clubs and anyone who simply wants to visit us. We are happy to welcome guests who drop by for a quick coffee and a chat. We also welcome family meals, tourists who discover us for the first time and anyone who wants to get to know us.

Our aim is to continue to run the business as a family business. To be as consistent in the preparation of our dishes as we have been for years. To always endeavour to look after every guest. To give every guest the feeling of being in their own living room. Every guest should simply feel completely at ease. Only with this feeling will our guests become repeat offenders. Our aim is not to be bigger or better. Rather, we want to build up the youth and thus the next generation of regular guests.

We cook fresh, seasonal and regional dishes. We always endeavour to make the best of our products.

In summer we like to serve fresh fish from Lake Attersee from our partner Fischerei AMMER. In autumn and winter we concentrate entirely on the game season and have the game supplied by two very good friends and excellent hunters from the Linz-Land district. The DERNTL family has been a supplier from the very beginning.

Classics such as Wiener Schnitzel, Cordon Bleu and of course the famous „Marianne Schnitzerl“, named after the late senior chef Marianne Schönberger, can always be found on the menu.

Half board for hotel guests

Since December 2023, we have been offering a half-board menu for our hotel guests again. The menu costs €32 and can be booked directly in the restaurant. The menu consists of 3 courses that guests can put together themselves from our menu.

Wednesday to Friday from 5.30 pm
Saturday – Monday from 11.30 to 13.30 & from 17.30
Tuesdays: day off

WINTER opening hours (November to March)

Friday & Saturday from 5.30 pm
Sunday & Monday from 11.20 am to 1.30 pm & from 5.30 pm

In April & May our closing days vary, but we usually have 2 closing days, which can be from Tuesday to Thursday.

Our Team

Head chef Michi and his Susi:

Our Michi was born in Mühlviertel and completed his apprenticeship at the Ursulinenhof in Linz.
He brought his Susi with him as sous-chef. Susi was born in Ischl and also completed her apprenticeship at the spa hotel there.

After their apprenticeship, they both moved to various seasonal businesses throughout Austria.
Most recently, they cooked at the Hotel Föttinger in Steinbach am Attersee in summer. They spent the last winter season at the Maisalm in Saalbach-Hinterglemm.

In their free time, the power couple enjoy travelling in the great outdoors, preferably by e-bike. They also enjoy travelling and are keen divers. We are delighted to welcome them to our team in September.

Steffi:

Steffi is originally from Croatia, where she graduated from an agricultural college specialising in forestry technology. As our Steffi is a very open and communicative person, she quickly realised that her passion lies more in gastronomy than in forestry technology.

Steffi spent the last few years at the Romantikhotel Krone in Lech. There she worked in various positions from service to beautician.

In her free time, Steffi enjoys cosmetics and fashion, but she is also fond of music. Steffi has been with us since June and has been an asset to our team ever since.

Tomi:

Tomislav, Tomi for short, comes from Croatia. He trained as an electrician there. As his strength lies in dealing with people, Tomi decided to go to Germany after his apprenticeship to work as a waiter.

After a few years in Germany, he moved to beautiful Austria, more precisely to Lech. Tomi has spent the last few years working as Chef de Rang at the Romantikhotel Krone in Lech.

In his free time, Tomi enjoys sport, going for walks and drinking a glass of wine in the evening. Tomislav has been with us since May and is an integral part of the team.

The host Susanna:

Even as a child, Susanna dreamed of becoming a landlady. Even as a teenager, she worked alongside school in a cultural centre in her home town of Traun. After several holiday internships in the catering and hotel industry, she realised that she could no longer imagine her life without the catering industry.

After this decision, Susanna travelled to Lech am Arlberg and Nußdorf am Attersee for a few years on a seasonal basis, where she was able to gain a lot of experience.

Her dream of becoming a manager finally came true in April. Since the beginning of April, our boss has been „the host“ at Hotel Schönberger.
